United Nations Environment Programme and GFN

The Green Film Network has signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Environment Programme (UN Environment) for a worldwide collaboration.
Global initiatives will be coordinated by the GFN board and UN Environment Communication Division.

Under this umbrella agreement, the GFN festivals will be able to develop joint initiatives at the national level and are encouraged to get in touch with UN Environment regional offices to further discuss the proposed activities.

The GFN and some festivals have already set up collaborations with UN Environment around the World Environment Day celebrations, however the signature of this agreement represents a further step in the collaboration with the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system, and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment.
