The 1st GFN Award – Tuesday, February 4, 2014

In 2014, the GFN organized the first GFN Award, an environmental documentary film prize awarding one on eleven documentaries.

The 11 major members of GFN will present a documentary selected in their 2013 selection and produced in their own country, to show the diversity and the strength of environmental documentary creations around the world.

An international jury will watch the films on a private platform and award one of the documentaries. This first edition will be hosted by Fife Île-de-France and co organized with the strong support of the GFN members and especially with CinemAmbiente. The award, granted with 5 000 Euros, will be attributed during the opening ceremony of Fife Île-de-France which will occurred on February 4th.

The film will be screened twice in a French subtitled version at the Cinema des Cinéastes in Paris (France). The screening is free and open to everyone.

In the years to come, the GFN will organize the GFN award. Each year the event will be host by another GFN member and always supported by the network.

GFN wishes to support documentary creations and to aware the widest audience around the world about environmental and social issues.
