5th Filmambiente (August 27th-September 3rd, 2015)
The fifth edition of Filmambiente happens in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil) from August 27th to September 3rd, 2015 at Espaço Itau de Cinema, the Environment Museum, OiFuturo Ipanema, and the eight Naves do Conhecimento scattered around the north zone and the periphery of the city (Madureira, Penha, Padre Miguel, Irajá, Vila Aliança (Bangu), Santa Cruz and Nova Brasilia (Complexo do Alemão).
And this year, for the first time, and always aiming to increase awareness and extend exhibitions, special sessions for schools will be held in the morning and afternoon at the Museum of the Environment.
The festival will present 69 films, selected from the best and most awarded films on environmental issuesand, as every year, all the screenings are free of charge and subtitled, in order to enable wider access to information that will assist audiencesin making decisions and choices that lead to a fairer and more balanced sustainable development.
In addition to the Short and Feature Competition, there’s a showcase of French films – selected with the support of FIFE – Carte Blanche FIFE, International Festival of Environmental Films – held for over 30 years, annually in Paris, France, and one of the most important festivals in the world on this theme. The other shows are How is Your Health Doing?, Life is Water, Nature and Panorama. And a special program of films that do not require subtitles, will be prepared for the Naves and exhibitions in schools.

The partnership with OI continues – it sponsors the festival, with the Secretary of State for Culture and the State Law for the Incentiveof Culture of Rio de Janeiro, and the cultural support OIFuturo. We also have the support of the Embassies of France and Switzerland and Italian Institute of Culture, and the National Network of Education and Research (RNP).
This year we received more than 900 submissions, from 85 countries – which added to othersviewed films, totaling almost one thousand films viewed to select and prepare the best possible environmental film festival.
